The Welcome Wreck: FASET Orientation
Hello Yellow Jacket Families!
We hope you enjoy this video in our Welcome Wreck: Georgia Tech 101 Summer Series, FASET Orientation Readiness, with James E. Allen Jr., Ed.D., director of New Student and Transition Programs, and Ellen Riley, director, Advising Operations, Academic Success and Advising.
In this video, James and Ellen help us understand how best to prepare for both the student and family/guest experiences at FASET Orientation, and offer information about Wreck Camp Extended Orientation, First-Year Leadership Organizations, and New Student and Transition Programs.
Visit the FASET Orientation website
- To sign up for a FASET date, please go to your FASET portal and sign up for a date that is available to you. If you cannot attend the dates listed on your FASET portal, register for one of the dates, and feel free to submit a change of session request also through your FASET portal.
- 2 weeks prior to your FASET session date, all students should receive a pre-communication email that gives you access to a FASET Orientation Canvas page where everything you need to be successful during your FASET day is. It is important to note, if you registered a guest for your FASET experience, their guest canvas page link will also be in your pre-communication email.
Visit the Wreck Camp Extended Orientation website
- Wreck Camp is an extended orientation experience that brings together new and current students to jumpstart their college experience in a fun summer camp setting.
- During your time at Wreck Camp, you will be in small groups led by two upperclassmen student leaders, color-themed teams, and the overall large camp. While having a great time in the activities, this experience allows you to help make your transition to Tech easier by creating new bonds and friendships with a diverse group of students before ever arriving on campus.
You can choose from two options:
- Wreck Camp ATL - An on-campus Wreck Camp experience for all first-year students.
- Wreck Camp Odyssey - An off-campus Wreck Camp experience for all first-year students.
Visit the Connect First Year Leadership Organization website
- Connect is a First-Year Leadership Organization designed to support student transitions into Georgia Tech. As a part of our close-knit community, Connectors will gain valuable leadership skills through event planning and team-building activities that facilitate strong connections.
