Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR): Three Simple Steps to Save a Life - 2/19/26
Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) is designed to help anyone learn how to recognize the warning signs of suicide, offer hope, and help save lives. Parent and Family Programs is grateful for the opportunity to share this QPR training hosted by the Georgia Tech Center for Mental Health Care & Resources with Dr. Andrew Stochel.
👉Click through to join us on Teams for this nighttime QPR training, Thursday, Feb. 19, from 7 - 8:30 p.m. ET.
Some college students have thoughts of suicide at some point in their
lives, and many more struggle with mental health concerns. Many parents
often want to give help and support to their children, but often feel
unsure and uneasy about what to do. There is a great deal of taboo
surrounding suicide, asking for help, and knowing what to say. Come
learn about steps to talk with your student about suicide and the
resources to support them.
Please note that this session will not be recorded due to the
sensitive nature of the topic being discussed. This training is repeated
several times throughout each academic year. Additionally, Dr. Stochel
has created an overview of the topics covered in a QPR training, which
is available for viewing at the link below. It is not a training
session, but it does provide important information and resources for
parents and families.
