What's Buzzin' at Georgia Tech: Commuter Student Engagement 1/27/26

Posted about 2 months ago  in Parent and Family NewsFamilies of Commuter Students.

UPDATE: The recording of this webinar has been posted on YouTube and is accessible through the image above, and KR's presentation slides are attached, below.

The What's Buzzin' series continues this spring with a session for families whose students live off campus.

Commuter Student Engagement, part of the Student and Campus Event Centers, focuses on connecting, supporting, and engaging students who live off-campus— both undergraduate and graduate — through programs that build community, highlight campus resources, and advocate for an elevated commuter experience. In this session, Kathryn-Ruth Sasser, Assistant Director of Commuter Student Engagement, will share insights from the Commuter Student Assessment, highlight signature initiatives like Commuter Student Appreciation Week, and give a sneak peek at fun spring 2026 events designed to help commuter students thrive. Discover how Commuter Student Engagement helps commuter students thrive and how families can act as partners to support their success.

Join us on Zoom on Tuesday, January 27, 12 – 1 p.m. ET.

If you can't attend, don't worry - we'll share the recording and any applicable slides here as soon as possible.

Hint: If you're not already a member of the "Families of Commuter Students" community in the Hive, go to the Discover Communities tab on the Hive homepage to join!
