Parent and Family Programs is happy to partner with Dr. Andrea Brenner to bring you College Parenting 101: From High School Parent to College Parent, a webinar designed to help you prepare for your journey into becoming a family with a college student!

👉Thursday, June 26 at 7 p.m. ET, join our Zoom meeting

There can be a considerable learning curve for parents when they shift from the role of high school parent to college parent. This session teaches new college parents to lessen their involvement in their student's daily lives and simultaneously increase their support of their student’s growing self-reliance. Topics include: encouraging students to use campus resources when they need help; tips to guide students’ self-sufficient problem solving; communicating about non-negotiable and negotiable expectations; using reflective listening techniques with overwhelmed students; and supporting students as they learn to build resilience after challenges and setbacks.

No registration is required, so mark your calendars and join us!

Dr. Brenner will also offer a session on July 15, Preparing Your Neurodiverse Teen for College - check out that post here in the Hive.

Both of her sessions will be recorded and shared in their Hive posts.
