The 2024 Welcome Wreck: Georgia Tech 101 - The Center for Mental Health Care and Resources with Dr. Vidal Annan

Posted over 1 year ago  in First Year FamiliesYellow Jacket Family 101 (2024).

Hello Yellow Jacket Families!

We hope you enjoy this video in our Welcome Wreck: Georgia Tech 101 Summer Series. This episode features the Center for Mental Health Care and Resources with Senior Director, Dr. Vidal Annan.

College is a major time of transition for students and families. While it can be a time of excitement, joy, and exploration, it can also be stressful and overwhelming. When the stress starts to affect a student’s functioning and gets in the way of their personal, social, and academic goals, it may be time to seek mental health support. The Center for Mental Health Care and Resources (CMHCR) is here to provide just such a service.

Dr. Annan shared with us the variety of services available for students through the center. From information on prevention and self-care, to sources of community support, counseling, and other clinical interventions, CMHCR is here to provide assistance and care to all degree-enrolled Georgia Tech students. The goal of the center is to provide accessible, timely, and high-quality mental health services to all students. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us in your time of need!

Enjoy listening and re-listening as much as you like, hopefully with your student as well, and don't forget to take a look at the presentation slide deck, attached to this post.

Comment below if you have any questions or feel free to reach out directly to Dr. Annan.

Go Jackets!
